Allies Rock
Tuesdays at 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the RSS music room

The very talented Lana Welchman from Girls Rock Camp Yukon is teaming up with us Trondëk H`wëchin Youth Services to launch Allies Rock. The workshop will be combining social justice and music. We will start each workshop with a chat about social justice issues in the Yukon and the world, and will also talk about what it means to be an ally. We will take our inspiration from the social justice talks and channel it into creative song writing. No musical experience is necessary and instruments will be provided. We would like to welcome any youth from grades 5 and up to join us for this special weekly event.

Hand Games Club
Thursdays 3:30
–5:00 p.m. @ RSS ancillary room
Our Youth Services Support workers will be pairing up with two student activity leaders to run our very own after school hand games club. Hand Games are a traditional First Nations game that has spread throughout north-western Canada. It is a guessing and deceiving game that is played to a chorus of lively drumming. First Nations Hand Games promote cultural pride and understanding through participation. These games are easy to learn and extremely fun! Our hand games club is open to all youth from grades 5 and up. Please join us after school on Thursdays at RSS.

To take a look at Hand Games in action: check out K'atl'odeeche First Nation's video of their tournament.
